UDHAMPUR, 23rd July: Awareness raising program on Income Tax Act and electronic filing of salaried employees annual tax return was organized by the Income Tax (IT) Department of the RV Raju auditorium, SKPA Udhampur.
Rakesh Kumar (Income Tax Commissioner), Satbir Singh (Joint Income Tax Commissioner), Amit Kumar (Deputy Income Tax Commissioner), Anjesh Bhartia (Income Tax Officer) Income) and Vijay Choudhary (Income Tax Officer) graced the occasion. The session was attended by VK Jamwal, SSP, DD (Outdoor), ADs and 300 staff and trainees.
A keynote address was given by the Commissioner of Income Tax, while a full PowerPoint presentation was given by the Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax.
Referring to income tax as the backbone of the economy, Amit Kumar highlighted various provisions recently introduced in the income tax section. 26 AS, EPF and GPF savings limits and above all the intrinsic importance of the e-ITR deposit. He clarified that the income tax department believes in the deductions claimed by taxpayers, but cautioned that the claim must be based on facts.
Earlier, in his inaugural address, Mohan Lal (SSP), Deputy Director (Interior), SKPA Udhampur, expressed hope for reaping good dividends at the end of the outreach programme.
In his closing remarks, Vinay Kumar (SSP), Deputy Director (Administration), SKPA Udhampur, said the session will go a long way in improving the knowledge of the participants.
A keepsake was presented by academy staff to the visiting team from the Department of Income Tax as a mark of respect.
