Bent Water Brewing Company in Lynn, MA is looking for a Shift Brewer to join our team. Our shift brewers are versatile in all areas of brewing. Job summary:

The brewer position is a full-time salaried position that represents a versatile brewer position responsible for assisting with brewing and cellaring operations. The qualified employee must have at least the following skills, knowledge and experience. A brewer’s duties will enforce operational and quality standards during all production, sanitation and safety procedures under little or no supervision, in a timely manner and with acceptable quality. They will be responsible for very limited working days, evenings and weekends in the brewery as needed. The position will report directly to the Production Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To plan
Manage time wisely to ensure all tasks are completed effectively and efficiently
o Participate in training procedures for brewery staff
o Maintain accurate inventory and quality management of raw materials, chemicals and finished products.

Execute
o Perform scheduled tasks in accordance with company standard operating procedures and guidelines (SOP/SOG)
o Will receive cross-training in brewing, cellaring and occasionally assisting our packaging team.
o Assist management in the creation/maintenance of SOPs/GMPs.
o Follow all safety procedures.
o Periodic handling of hazardous chemicals.
o Maintain accurate daily production records by company and federal requirements.
o Continuously maintain all beer production areas including equipment – (mill room, brewhouse, fermentation and filtration, draff area, bulk grain and grain storage area, and all aisles and aisles).
o Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a clean work environment.
o Assist maintenance technicians in the maintenance and repair of equipment.

Extracurricular
o Represent Bent Water Brewing at corporate events and beer festivals.
o Continue to build brewing knowledge through books, articles and technical seminars throughout employment.

Terms:

Education
o Completion of an accredited brewing program, such as the Seibel Institute or the UC Davis Master Brewer program is advantageous.
o Knowledge of beer history, production, ingredients and tasting.

Live
o 2+ years of brewing and/or cellar experience in a production facility
o Experience with heavy machinery, brewing and laboratory equipment.
o Ability to work in a team.

o Forklift experience preferred

o A passion for creating great beer.

o Computer programs: Google Suite
o Autonomy, situational awareness, safety awareness and problem solving
o Physical ability (standing, lifting, working in difficult conditions, including moving objects weighing up to 150 pounds)
