Coaldale seeks new tax collector – Times News Online

Several job opportunities have opened up with the Borough of Coaldale which were discussed at the council meeting on Tuesday.

The council voted in favor of the resignation of the collector of the borough, Cathy Papesh, who will resign as of January 15 for reasons of personal health. The Borough is now accepting letters of interest from anyone interested in the two-year position. The letters must be received by the borough by January 31 at the latest and the council will then meet to examine them.

Borough attorney Robert T. Yurchak said the borough must fill the position within 30 days of Papesh’s last day, Jan. 15.

Council also voted in favor of an ad for seasonal workers within the borough to help with snowblowers, shoveling and snow removal and snow removal for the town hall and for the Coaldale complex. The rate of pay will be $ 15 per hour.

The Council is looking for a person to fill the position of Work Team Leader for the Street Service. The candidate will be responsible for helping to maintain the properties of the borough; sidewalks, cleaning of buildings, black siding, repair of small engines, basic carpentry, help with sewer problems, lawn mowing, plumbing, some electrical items and more.

Council voted to hire Chad Warman and Lee Stroup, pending the successful completion of their background checks, to serve as plow drivers for the borough.
