mnc: Daughter of Anganwadi Worker Bags Mnc Job after Engineering Degree | Dehradun News

Dehradun: In times of pay cuts and loss of job opportunities due to the Covid pandemic, the Rs 21 lakh annual salary package offered to Uttarakhand’s daughter Priyanka Bhatt certainly goes against the trend. The 22-year-old, from New Tehri in Uttarakhand, went on to study electronics and communications engineering at Doon-based UPES after fainting from Purkal Youth Development Society (PYDS), which provides education to children from underprivileged families. PYDS considered her entrance exam scores and economic background before sponsoring her education.
Incidentally, several of the school’s alumni – mostly sons and daughters of maids, laborers and casual laborers – were awarded scholarships after fainting and went on to study at top universities in the stranger.
Priyanka also comes from a humble background. Her mother is an Anganwadi laborer while her father works in the Tehri Dam maintenance department. The family is delighted with the pre-placement offer their daughter received from an American multinational to work in their Hyderabad office. For her part, Priyanka attributes her success to the grooming she received at PYDS. “I first heard about PYDS through a friend. I was excited to get in there for my 11th and 12th. The school helped me achieve my dreams and encouraged me to pursue them. Their support helped me a lot to get into UPES Dehradun from where I pursued my studies in electronics and communication engineering, where they sponsored my studies and paid for campus accommodation, computer laptop, etc. “, she said.
