PRTC revenue rises to Rs. 62.43-cr in March vs. Rs.37.23-cr from congress government: Laljit Singh Bhullar

CHANDIGAR: Punjab Transport Minister S. Laljit Singh Bhullar on Tuesday claimed that with the transparent policies of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann led by the state government, the daily income of the government bus service has started to increase dramatically. He said that during the tenure of the previous Congress government, PRTC revenue in March 2021 was recorded at Rs 37.23 crore which has now risen to Rs 62.34 crore in March 2022.

Speaking to the media after reporting 29 new PRTC buses at PRTC Chandigarh Depot, S. Bhullar said that in the last three months i.e. December, January and February of the Congress government led by Channi , the daily income of state buses was recorded at Rs 0.1.76 crore per day, while it remained Rs.2.01 crore per day after March 10, the day our government arrived in power, which further increased to Rs.2.20 crore per day during the first ten days of April.

After adding 29 new buses to the PRTC fleet, the transport minister claimed that strengthening public transport would clearly help curb the private bus mafia. “After the last shipment of 29 buses out of a total of 255 new buses provided to PRTC, PRTC now has a total fleet of 1308 buses, which would strengthen the PRTC bus service system, especially in Malwa region. , the main operational hub of PRTC in addition to He stated that out of these new buses, Patiala, Sangrur and Bathinda depots received 6 buses each, 5 buses for Budhlada depot, 4 for Chandigarh depot and 2 buses for Barnala Bus Depot Bhullar said the Punjab government is committed to providing affordable, safe and quality transport to people in the state.

S. Laljit Singh Bhullar said the government bus service was being boosted across Punjab as part of a plan to curb the private transport mafia, pointing out that the private transport mafia, which is destroying the treasury of the State, would soon be severely suppressed.

“The fine provision of Rs.54,000 for the first time, Rs. 1.08 lakh for the second time and Rs.2.16 lakh for the third time for tax evasion will be implemented in true spirit” , said the minister adding that he will soon address the issue of posting the details of these failed buses online, with Chief Minister S.
