“ Tree Doctor ” voted best in North County for two consecutive years
Since 1985, Russell Bowman has delighted residents of San Diego County with his expertise in plants and trees.
It’s no wonder, then, that Bowman’s plant and tree care specialists were named for the second year in a row by the San Diego Union-Tribune Community Press Voter Poll “Best of North County” for the maintenance of trees and plants!
Bowman is affectionately known as “The Extraordinary Tree Doctor” of San Diego by his clients, and is known to have turned sickly trees and gardens into Disney wonders.
Using his own proprietary blend of organic organic nutrition, Bowman feeds the plants at night – something he learned during his time as a horticulturalist at Disneyland.
“When you feed the plants at night, they have enough time to absorb the nutrition, before it is broken down by the sun’s rays,” Bowman said. “That’s why when most people finish their days and eat and go to bed, we are feeding the plants and the trees.”
Bowman has done more than just cure diseased plants and trees, he has revolutionized residential and commercial properties using his organic fertilizer reservoirs that inject his magic formula into your irrigation systems.
This program reduces overall water consumption by households by 30%. In a very short time, this program pays off with reduced water bills.
“When you give your body proper nutrition, it affects your overall health and boosts your immunity, so you don’t get sick,” Bowman said. “The same goes for plants and trees.”
Bowman nurtures the comprehensive ‘nutrition distribution biology’ derived from earthworm casts to piece together the missing healthy soil biology.
It works with a client’s current irrigation system so that each time the landscaping is watered, the necessary soil biology is replenished.
“That’s the secret to keeping your property looking like a five star resort,” Bowman said.
Bowman quickly points out that healthy plants and trees are also environmentally friendly. A healthy plant will be more efficient at photosynthesizing sunlight into oxygen, and healthy soil / compost will help reduce the use of much less water.
Bowman has asked customers to report a 30% reduction in their water bills after making their soil healthy, while their gardens remain lush and vibrant.
His dedication to plants is unwavering. Bowman often finishes at 11 p.m. after feeding trees and gardens for county patrons.
He volunteers his time to teach children how to take care of the trees and gardens at El Refugio orphanage in Mexico.
Bowman also donates his time and tree expertise to the Point Loma Association and Gardens at Point Loma Rock Church, Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, YMCA, Barnes Tennis Center, restaurants Chile, the Stone Brewery in Escondido and the San Diego Botanical Garden. . He also served with the San Diego Rose Society in Balboa Park for 12 years.
“My call is to beautify the earth, to make the trees and plants healthy,” Bowman said. “Master Gardner taught me everything I know. I’ve learned that when you like something, it’s not something you have to do; it’s something you want to do.
